*Water bottles. Bring your own reusable water bottle filled with filtered water from home everytime you go to the gym. You could save an average of $200 usd per year as well as 14 pounds of plastic.
*Share With Friends. Share things like books, magazines, movies, games, and newspapers between friends and neighbors.
*Replace Disposables: Wherever possible, replace disposable products with reusable ones i.e., razor, food storage, batteries, ink cartridges (buy refill ink), coffee filters, furnace or air conditioner filters, etc.
*Deodorant. When you buy deodorant (there are organic options), try to avoid antiperspirants, which use aluminium salts to seal up to your pores. In addition to being a potential health toxin, aluminum takes a tremendous amount of energy to mine. If you buy one stick of aluminum-free deodorant, the energy sabed could power your laptop for 30 min!!!
*Sponges. Instead of buying a synthetic nylon sponge, consider using a completely natural and biodegradable loofah or a plain reusable washcloth. Since nylon is made from petroleum and can´t be recycled, you´ll conserve the energy used to make it, as well as the environmental cost of disposing of it.
